To obtain a Marriage License please review the steps mentioned below.
- Online Preliminary Registration Option - Click on the link and complete the online form. Upon completion of the online form and submission of the information you will need to visit the Harrison County Clerk's office to complete the process. Upon arriving at the Clerk's Office let the Clerk's staff know that you submitted the online preliminary application.
- All applicants for a marriage license in the State of Indiana the prospective Bride and Groom must show a driver's license with their current address or birth certificate.(If your driver's license does not show your current address please bring a form of ID that has your correct address on it,such as a bill from a utility or insurance ID card.
- The Marriage license is valid for 60 days and may be used anywhere in the State of Indiana.
- There is no waiting period to be married.
- Both the bride and groom must be 18 years of age. If under 18 years of age both parents(or parent having sole custody) must sign a consent to marry form.
- If 16 years of age or younger an order signed by a Judge must be provided and written consent of both parents.
- You must provide both parent's birthplace, parent's current address and mother's maiden name.
- If you or your fiancé have been married before we need to know the date of your latest divorce.
- If one or both parties is a resident of the State of Indiana, the cost of the Marriage license is $18.00 in cash only. If both parties are from out of state the cost is $60.00 (cash only).
