The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is beginning a hiring process for full-time police officers. Positions will be filled from a pool of new recruits and/or academy trained lateral transfers.
A written test must be taken by all new recruits. Lateral transfers are exempt from taking the written test.
For new recruits, visit www.empco.net and follow their step by step instructions to take the written test at one of their many testing locations. The Sellersburg Ivy Tech is currently creating test dates for local applicant's convenience.
Candidates must set up an account, visit the testing facility as scheduled, take the test and achieve a minimum score of 70% to continue in the hiring process.

Completed applications are due on or prior to the physical fitness assessment which has been scheduled to take place on Friday, February 22nd at 1:00 pm, at the Corydon YMCA located at 198 Jenkins Court NE, Corydon, IN 47112.
All applicants must be in excellent physical condition and be able to pass the ILEA physical fitness exit standards.
